GDPR Readiness

There are two interrelated elements required for the GDPR:

The design of systems and processes to secure data

The design of systems and processes, which ensure the data is managed properly

In order to be certified as GDPR ready, organisations must complete a GDPR compliance assessment comprising of 171 questions. Answers provided by organisations must be approved by a board level representative or business owner; otherwise, certification cannot be awarded.

As part of the GDPR Readiness service, Vox Securitas will spend time with your organisation to identify the following:

  • The key areas of security that you need to address and explain how to address these, including support in answering the questions on the portal.
  • The areas within the management process that will show you have an information assurance process that is committed to ‘privacy by design’.

The answers organisation’s provide are managed through our secure online portal, enabling the organisation’s to complete the assessment with ease and at a pace that suits them.

Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials is a scheme developed by the UK Government, with advice from Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), to identify the security controls an organisation must have in place within their IT systems. By developing these controls, organisations can effectively mitigate the risk and defend themselves against network based cyber attacks.

The Cyber Essentials scheme enables organisations to secure a high-level of cyber security through the implementation of the five fundamental technical security controls.

You can read more information on the five technical security controls here.

Organisations will benefit from one year of complimentary Cyber Insurance of up to £25,000 (provided by AIG). The criteria for the insurance is as follows:

  • Organisations that have been certified to Cyber Essentials
  • The assessment must cover the entire organisation
  • The turnover of the organisation must be less than £20m

IASME Governance Self Certification

The Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises (IASME) Governance standard was developed in order to create a cyber-security standard, which would be affordable and an achievable alternative to the international standard, ISO27001.

IASME Governance has been used by many organisations to demonstrate that they have the systems and processes in place to ensure that data is managed properly. Included in this standard is the assessment against the GDPR requirements, utlimately to enable organisations to say they are GDPR ready.

On successfully completing the questionnaire the organisation can display the Cyber Essentials, GDPR Readiness and the IASME Governance logos on their website and promotional material.
